To all patients of Orthopedic Centers of Colorado (OCC),

The Divisions across the Front Range, Advanced Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Specialists, Colorado Center for Orthopedic Excellence, Colorado Orthopedic Consultants, Cornerstone Orthopedics, Denver Spine, Hand Surgery Associates, Orthopedic Associates, and Peak Orthopedics are concerned for your well-being and the health of our community.

We are closely monitoring the impact of COVID-19 across the globe and in our community. The recommendations are changing by the hour as we learn more about what other countries are doing to protect their citizens. We do not yet know the impact to our community, but OCC will be part of the solution and care of you, our patients, friends, neighbors, and Colorado.

With a heavy heart and a scientific mind, the OCC Board of Physicians has approved a shut-down of all non-essential care and elective surgery effective Monday 3/16/20 at 5 pm.

Non-essential care is defined as that which is not time-sensitive for medical reasons. OCC is continuing to care for admitted patients and will provide necessary postoperative and follow-up care for patients who recently had procedures at one of our facilities or offices. We will be calling you to adjust the timing of your care.

We will be starting Tele-Health on Tuesday, March 17th so that we can keep a continuity of care with you through these difficult times. An appointment invitation will come from your doctor via text or email. You will need to log in to the application. This will provide a HIPAA compliant video and audio communication between you and your physician. We will be able to help continue your orthopedic care remotely in order to help protect you and our community from further exposure to COVID 19. It will be a learning process for all of us.

To summarize

  1. OCC will be adjusting the timing of your care with you to meet the goal of decreasing the risk of COVID 19 transmission in the community
  2. OCC will start Tele-Health methods to continue caring for your orthopedics needs
  3. OCC will remain available for emergency and urgent orthopedic needs – call your division prior to arriving in the office to coordinate
